The municipal staff that dresses in uniform in the City Council of San Vicente del has not received today, August 1, the summer wardrobe. The contract for the supply of clothing for the municipal staff was finalized without renewing another contract and this affects the uniformity of almost 70 people (the Local Police has an own costume contract), with which the works and services personnel, the cemetery or the janitors have not renewed the clothes this summer. The spokesman for Citizens, Alejandro Navarro, recriminated in the plenary session of July the mayor of Human Resources, José Luis Lorenzo, who has passed the contract. Lorenzo acknowledged that "the contract does not go with the speed with which it has to go".
The mayor of Human Resources and Contracting ensures that this clothing will be purchased through a minor contract and notes that for this a technician has been put to work; and that for the winter uniforms a bidding process will be done.
Limit of 25 washes
Sources of the brigade of works, one of the most affected, assure that they already warned in September to the area of Human Resources about the expiration of this contract and that they answered that they had it in mind and, despite this, regret that they have not taken steps to make a new one. They point out that they are using the uniformity of last year, with the problem that it contains reflective material and special reflective tapes that are recommended to change after 25 washes.
They do not trust to receive the new clothes this month, which has forced some worker to replace the official clothes by the reflective vest and to buy their own boots.
