Safety First, Safety vest

The Cyclo 64 Billère is doing well. Clearly, balance sheets are good. Cyclists in reflective vest have swallowed no less than 4 000 km during Sunday outings. If the weather had been kinder, the counter would certainly have been higher. The club, met on 16 December, also participated in its usual activities in Spain in connection with the twinning of Sabiñánigo, as well as many outings in the department and a significant interest in humanitarian events like the Telethon, the path of the heart or Alzheimer's.

The president, André, thanked the City and technical services for their regular support. The downside, however, was issued by "Mr. Security," Jean-Patrick, who said that the roads out in the region are often poorly maintained. But he was keen to stress the behavior imbued with wisdom of club cyclists who demonstrate discipline and responsiveness "The compliance by each contributes to the safety of the group.”This was followed by a reminder of the mandatory safety rules also apply to cyclists outside the club: safety vest port in case of reduced visibility, lamps fixed on the bike, white front and red in back. During outings, cohesion is essential. Cyclists must be responsible and vigilant with respect to drivers and barriers and monitor each other.

An observation was made at the bike paths that are not or little passable by cyclists, as sweepers in safety clothing are sending pebbles and leaves, not to mention the glass bottles often very numerous.

The 2017 season will start on March 12 ended on October 8. The big events of the year will once again Quebrantahuesos, Spain, June 17 for the outdoor riding pairing. The office was renewed without surprise: André remains president and treasurer, Jean-Michel, secretary, Roger, and Jean-Patrick security.
