They will encourage motorcyclists to wear reflectors

"Reflect" - is the slogan of the latest social campaign for motorcyclists and scooter users. The aim of the action launched on Thursday by the Warsaw Municipal Road Administration is to encourage wheelchair drivers to wear reflective vests.

The campaign launched a website - where you can find detailed information, including: on road safety. "This campaign wants to draw the attention of motorcyclists that they can improve their safety by being better visible," emphasized the spokesperson of the Municipal Road Administration Adam Soberer at a press conference inaugurating the campaign, which took place in the Warsaw.

The campaign's ambassadors are TV presenter Suzie and journalist Pluck who appeared in the spots promoting the campaign. They remind us that a black motorcycle motorcyclist on a black motorcycle is blending with an asphalt background and that he or she may not be visible to other drivers. This year, six picnics promoting the campaign will be held in Warsaw. The first will take place on April 26 in Park - you will be able to admire stunt shows, learn first aid. Motorcyclists will honor fully donate blood. On May 17th, the Motor Industry Institute will host a simulated road show involving a motorcyclist, motorcyclists, and first aid demonstrations dedicated to a motorcyclist. The campaign summary, scheduled for the end of October, is due to take place at the biggest road show in Poland "Infrastructure 2014".

The deputy head of the city ward of the Warsaw City Guard, argued that safety cameras on the selected intersections also contribute to improving road safety. - In 2013, approximately 165,000 offenses were reported on the basis of photographs recorded using fixed and mobile devices. Approximately 110,000 proceedings have been completed. 90,000 drivers without safety vest were fined for about 29 million PLN. Other cases are in progress. Deputy head of the Traffic Department of the Headquarters of the Metropolitan Police, Picot admitted that although in the last few years in Warsaw a decrease in traffic accidents occurred, in 2013 there were 2 100. It was more than 100 more years earlier. More were killed and injured in traffic accidents and collisions. Jacobs said that also this year road traffic police will continue with similar actions such as "Safe Pedestrian", "Safe Road to School", "Follow the Way".

The Honorary Patron of the "Reflection" campaign is the German Embassy in Warsaw. As the conference participants pointed out, the choice of the embassy was not accidental, for it was German Gottlieb Daimler who began work on the construction of a bicycle engine in the 1970s. He succeeded in 1885, when he mounted the engine in a vehicle with a wooden frame. Historically it is considered his vehicle as the first motorcycle. On the other hand, the first motorcyclist was Daimler's son, Paula, who on November 10, 1885, crossed the 9.5km route from Constant to Interterm and back. The campaign is part of the Decade of Road Safety Action 2011-2020 announced by the UN General Assembly. Its purpose is to reduce the number of fatal road accidents.

The final of the DZ action today - Be visible

On the Ankara Square (next to Saturn) in the Katowice gallery of Silesia City Center we organized a final of the "Be visible" (with reflective material) with the Katowice WORD and police on Sunday. We have to admit that we did not expect it immediately after hours 10 such assault on our posts.

We waited for you in the chair 10-18, inviting you to many attractions. Among other things you could see how the world sees the driver sitting behind the wheel with a drink of alcohol. Simulation is possible thanks to special glasses called algae.

They could also take tests on reflective safety vest and reaction times during a roadside crisis.
The study was conducted by Westlaw Mingo and Arcadias Helladic from Katowice's WORD.
- The test consists of pressing keys as fast as possible. Within two minutes the device generates 240 of them. Most often, the results oscillated around 150-170 points, which is very good, "Helladic said.
The first decided to test the equipment prepared by the WORD experts to study reflexes and reactions on the way Stanislaw Organdy from Katowice. Just behind him was a queue.

And here a surprise! We have a new record of Poland!
This is Mr. Gregory from Raciborz, who on the reflective device received a score of 209, while the manufacturer of the device factory set the scale to only 203. It turns out that our Raciborz reader broke a record that no one even dreamed. Its result is sensational.

The visit to our SCC Sunday picnic was also a chance to get gadgets, but the main aim was to promote safe road travel, which was reflected in reflective and reflective vests. It was enough to fill in a brief anonymous questionnaire.

Protective safety clothing is the basis of safety

We often hear of work-related accidents, both light and heavy, and even fatal. The most exposed to occupational accidents are workers working on the construction site: bricklayers, armaments or carpenters who work at heights. The reflective vest is necessary in the working.

When it comes to the safety of employees while performing their duties, it is important to note that it affects not only the employer but also the employee. These obligations are governed by the general provisions of the Labor Code, as well as specific provisions governing health and safety at work.

Employers should provide their employees with protection measures to ensure that their work is safe and does not endanger their health or life. As a result, the employer should provide safety helmets to all construction workers - every worker on the construction site should protect their head against possible impacts by falling objects, impacting the projecting boards or beams and falling.

Protective clothing
In addition, safety vests and trousers are an important element - it is best to be reflective clothing, so that every present person on the construction site will be visible by other workers. This clothing should be equipped with practical pockets for storing the necessary tools while allowing for free and unrestricted movement of workers.

Do not skip gloves; protect your hands and shoes from wearing protective clothing. As for shoes, you cannot use other than ankle boots on the construction site. These are specially padded shoes that are additionally fitted with sheeting in the sole to protect the foot from stabbing a nail or other sharp element that could hurt the foot.
In addition to this, an important element of equipping workers who perform their duties at a height is the braces that a person should be "associated" with a stable structure, such as a scaffolding - in case of slipping or tipping balance at height will be protected from falling from a height as he will hang on braces - will not fall into uneven surfaces or other dangerous elements on the site.

Work on height also facilitates a special belt with numerous compartments and pockets for which hammer or nail tools are inserted. Safety goggles are a means of protecting an individual employee, which the employer should not forget. They are made of special material not susceptible to cracks and damage, so even if some element hit it - the glasses will not break and the glass will not hurt the eye.

Employers providing this personal protective equipment with reflective tape comply with their obligations under the legislation, but workers themselves often disregard their use, thereby exposing their health and even their lives to great danger.
They usually start using all the means the employer offers them only when they become eyewitnesses to the accident at work - but then it is too late. Nevertheless, every employee should be aware that failure to observe safety and health at workplace may be the basis for terminating the employment contract.

Children will be safer with lighting

City guards in safety vest want to improve the safety of children on the road. They started the glare deal. During meetings with children the guards talk about safety rules and explain to them what dangers lay ahead.

- Some of the schools are located in villages, especially there can be dangerous situations, says Andre, city commandant. - This is to improve safety. We conduct mainly in primary school. City guards in reflective uniform also meet with preschoolers.

What do you need and what should you have in the car

First aid kit, fire extinguisher and reflective vest in some countries are required, others are not. How is the situation in Poland? What every driver must have in the car and what penalties threaten to disobey the rules?

According to the regulations, a fire extinguisher and warning triangle with an approval mark must be present in each vehicle. No fire extinguisher can result in a mandate of 20 to 500 zł. A police officer can also punish a driver if the fire extinguisher is not in a place where there is no easy access, so it should not stick in the trunk. Interestingly, we are not threatened with a mandate if its usefulness has expired. Fire extinguishers should be inspected at least once a year and the extinguishing agent content must not be less than 1 kg. No fire extinguisher can also contribute to the negative result of the vehicle's technical inspection.

A warning reflective triangle with a valid approval mark must be present in each vehicle. According to the tariff for non-signaling or incorrect signaling of a stopover due to its damage or accident threatens 150 zł or 300 zł. The triangular must also be marked with the vehicle that is towed - in the absence of this marking, a mandate of 150 zł.

In Poland, possession of a first aid kit in a car is not necessary, but useful. You never know when it will be helpful, especially since first aid is compulsory in our country. What should be found in it? It is worth investing in a first aid kit that includes bandages, gas compresses, patches and dressings, compression band, disinfectant, mouthpiece for artificial respiration, protective gloves, triangular scarf, thermal blanket, scissors, safety pins and first aid instructions. Having a first aid kit is mandatory for those who carry people - taxi drivers, bus drivers and even driving instructors.

It may also be useful to wear a reflective yellow vest. It does not take up much space and is especially valuable in the event of an accident or minor repair on the roadside, such as a wheel change. It is also good to have tools that will allow you to do this yourself. Additional equipment includes a towing cable, a spare bulb or CB radio or a mobile alternative to Smartphone.

Some safety equipments that you should have in your car

In the car we carry a lot of things. Which safety equipment should you have in your car? Here are the most important and essential things that should be in it.

This is a device that is legally required in every vehicle. The fire extinguisher in which we should equip our car is the type of ABC that is most commonly used. It is true that one fire extinguisher cannot extinguish a fire, but it will do well in minor emergency situations, and it will also help when waiting for the arrival of a fire brigade. Remember to have the fire extinguisher in good working order, as well as to place it in an easily accessible location.

Warning triangle
This is another piece of equipment that you must have on board. It increases safety while unexpectedly stopping the vehicle on the roadside or roadway, informing other drivers that something unexpected has happened. Let us also remember about the proper placement of the sign in emergency situations. In the built-up area it is 1 meter behind the car, in the inbuilt area at a distance of 30-50 meters, while on a fast road about 120 meters.

Spare wheel or repair kit
At present, manufacturers often choose to place smaller and lighter repair kits. It is worth remembering to have at least one of these things in the car. You never know when a punctured tire can happen, and calling for help can cost us a lot of money and time.

Tire pressure gauge
From 2014, all new cars should be equipped with a built-in tire pressure measuring device. What if we have an older vehicle that does not have it? It is worth getting a portable pressure gauge. Incorrect tire pressure is one of the main reasons for increased fuel consumption in your car. It should also be noted that incorrect pressure causes much faster tire wear. By storing the manometer in the car we are able to check the pressure level in the wheels at any time.

First aid kit
It is not required to have a first aid kit in a vehicle in Poland. However, this is a necessity when you want to go to other countries where this type of equipment is necessary in the vehicle. These are, among others. However, it should be borne in mind that random situations on the road often occur and we may need basic medical elements, either as witnesses or witnesses.

Glass scraper
The Polish climate can move from extreme to extreme. Although the spring weather is approaching us with great strides, they can still catch us frostbite. The humid air with a negative temperature causes that the scraper will allow us to travel faster. Scrapers are small, so they do not take up too much room in the car, and they will certainly be useful in emergencies.

Replacement fluids for vehicle
Always keep spare tire fluid in the trunk, especially in the winter, when the amount of mud falling from under the wheels of other cars will cause significant use. If you drive an older car, it is also a good idea to bring extra engine oil with you. These cars tend to leak oil so that we may not have time to notice when the warning light comes on. Replacement oil for the engine should be sufficient to safely reach the nearest workshop.

Fuses and light bulbs
Having spare fuses and light bulbs should help in emergencies. In the event of a failure of one of them, the continuation of our journey becomes burdensome or impossible. Both things are small enough that they do not occupy a lot of storage space. We also need to get acquainted with the exchange of these items, because sometimes their complicated assembly or disassembly (especially first time) can cause us any problems.

Safety Vest
Good visibility, especially at night or during bad weather, is the basis. Do not save on your safety or the safety of others. In emergency situations, such as changing the wheel at the side of the road, having a reflective vest is essential.

Car charger for phone
The modern world is dominated by mobile devices. In emergencies, such as witnessing an accident or other incident, we may need access to the phone. In such situations, you should have a charged phone. However, we must remember not to use mobile devices while driving.
Being equipped with these 10 things, we can go on a leisurely journey.
