EN ISO 20471 is the first international standard for high visibility clothing. It replaces the European standard EN 471.

But what changes? And what does the new standard mean for manufacturers and distributors as well as for consumers/buyers of the clothing previously manufactured according to EN 471?

This brings with it the new warning clothing standard EN ISO 20471.

With the new EN ISO20471 requirements for warning clothing for use are set for the first time risk-related, in 3 classes especially for the protection against "high risk". The previous interpretation "for professional or professional use" of the EN 471 is thus a thing of the past.

Class 3 is still the highest and Class 1 is the lowest level of protection, depending on the quantities of warning material (background material) and reflex (retro-reflective material).

IMPORTANT: For the use of the lowest class 1 warning clothing, it is advisable to combine it with clothing of the higher classes to increase the visibility.

According to EN ISO 20471, the amount of warning background material is now determined "net". That is, without logos or other (also provided) imprints.

The warning reflective fabric must definitely also enclose the torso for high-risk clothing (class 2 + 3) for better visibility from all sides. High Class 3 must always wear clothes with sleeves.

Another new feature is that only the higher quality level 2 is allowed for reflective strips. The mention of the previous number in the new pictogram is therefore omitted.

The properties of the classes must now be retained even after at least 5 washes.

The biggest change in EN ISO 20471 is that warning clothing is considered and assessed in terms of "risk". This particularly helps the consumer in assessing which warning clothing is suitable for the particular application. The extensive range of warning clothing from KIND easily meets all requirements.

Rain or shine. Walking is not a game that you only practice in good weather. You can also walk comfortably and with pleasure on cold days.

4. In the winter, the sun does not lure you outside to work out. Therefore, speak to others to walk. That helps to stay motivated. Moreover, you cannot easily get out of it if you have a running date.

5. In winter, you should not focus on time and performance. Do not put too much pressure on yourself, just try to maintain your condition. Maybe plan a goal in the spring and try to build it up quietly.

6. Do you slip when you walk? That is also no excuse. You can use ice grippers, a kind of snow chains for sports shoes, or snowshoes. Trail shoes also have more grip than regular running shoes.

The Civil Guard distributed to the cyclists reflective vests

Agents of the Civil Guard of Traffic focused last weekend their efforts in giving protection to cyclists on the busiest roads in this group in the province.

Specifically, special interest was placed on the N-120 and OU-402 roads, which connect Orense and Reba davit along both sides of the Mino river. The new reflective fabric trends for the spring-summer season 2017, which have just been shown at the Performance Days in Munich, are likely to inspire sports and fashion brands alike: there has never been such a great deal of fashionable optics for sport. The materials of the future are becoming lighter, more flexible and softer. They promise to wear comfort, which is long since also interested the classic fashion customers. "37.4 percent of the visitors agree to the fashion sector," says Stefanie Sakharov of the Performance Days, summarizing the visitor structure of the last event at the end of April. This is a considerable share for a trade fair, which has explicitly devoted itself to the functional substances. And what trends does the industry see?

More patterns, more structure, more prints

After these tests on random outings, I decided to test it in running. I must admit that this is not its primary function and this has been confirmed. I started for a long 3 hours. I fill the pocket with water, open the reflective bag and hang the water pocket in the place provided with the ties while bringing out the pipette at the level of the shoulder straps (right shoulder strap but also left strap). The disadvantage is that the location of the water pocket is in the large pocket, just in front of the two inner mesh pockets... This is not very practical because the pockets are hardly accessible unless the water pocket moves... Personally, I usually run with very light bags. Whether walking or hiking, the flanges are within easy reach, although I find the location a bit low. Attention when the bag is not full, the water pocket moves not badly...

At the sweat level, the fabric is quite thick and fleeced in some places; it is very comfortable but not ideal in running...

In the course of the rondo and running trips I noticed that the bag moves less when it is full ... I also tested by carrying flasks in the bag that I positioned in the nets present on each side during Great hikes, which allowed me to use the location of the pocket to store Raito.
