What is mandatory to always have in the car to avoid high fines

According to the Highway Code, there are some things that should never be missing in the car. Otherwise, at the time of a check, you are liable to a fine. But there are also objects that are not mandatory, but which could be very useful. Especially in an emergency.

Mandatory equipment is defined. Precisely because we are talking about both documents and material objects.

As for the documents, obviously the license must always be with the driver. But the same goes for the insurance certificate and the vehicle registration document. It is no longer mandatory to display the coupon with the expiration of the car insurance. But this does not mean that you are exempt from having the document in the cockpit.

What is mandatory to always have in the car to avoid high fines

If you do not have your driving license or booklet with you, the fine is around 42 euros. And it must be paid in any case. Even if you can submit the document shortly thereafter. That is, going to get it or having it brought. The only way to save is to pay the fine within 5 days of being issued. So you will have a 30% discount, paying only 29.40 euros. If the license is not presented to the police office within the established deadline, the fine becomes higher, from 430 euros up to more than 1,700 euros.

In winter it is mandatory to have chains on board. Except when winter tires are fitted. The ProiezionidiBorsa staff has already addressed the topic, the article can be consulted here.

As for the child seat, it is mandatory up to 12 years of age. Or upon reaching 1.50m in height. And up to 4 years of age it is also mandatory to have an anti- abandonment device .

Two mandatory items to always have in the trunk

We are talking about the safety triangle and the reflective vest. The triangle must be displayed in the event of an accident or when the car is stationary, to report it to other motorists. It must be homologated and exhibited 50 meters away from your car. In case of control, not having it in the car involves a fine of about 170 euros. But also the deduction of 2 points from the driving license. The same principle applies to the reflective vest. It serves to signal to other motorists that you are on the road. And you are out of the vehicle. The obligation is reported in art. 162 of the Highway Code.

And here's what it is mandatory to always have in the car to avoid high fines. These described are the mandatory equipment for a private car. But it would also be good to get a first aid kit and a fire extinguisher. Although they are not mandatory, they can always be useful in an emergency.

Soacha prohibits the barbecue man on a motorcycle at night

Soacha will have a restriction on the male barbecue as a strategy to contain thefts in the municipality. This Monday, the municipal mayor, Juan Carlos Saldarriaga, confirmed that there will be a prohibition to transport a male barbecue between 9 pm and 4 am.

The president explained that, according to the authorities' figures, "about 70 percent of the thefts that are they have caused in the city in January they have been by a barbecue on a motorcycle". He even specified that the majority of attacks are occurring between midnight and 6 am

Hence, it is decided to implement this measure that, in case of being breached, will be sanctioned with the immobilization of the motorcycle and a fine of 483,000 pesos. There is no type of exception contemplated in the decree.

Regarding the strategy of restricting the movement of grill workers, opinions have historically been divided. Although it is a measure requested by some citizens and social sectors, security experts have viewed it with reserve, starting from the premise that "crime mutates." In the case of Bogotá, for example, when the restriction was made in a polygon in 2018, it was detected that, in some cases, the robberies migrated from places and times and that, at the point of the measure, robberies began to be of other modalities.

The mayor of Soacha said that given the possibility that in that municipality "motor thieves go out at other times", complementary strategies will be implemented. "Controls will be carried out 24 hours a day: a motorcycle with a male barbecue, who passes through a police checkpoint; motorcycle with grill will be required". On the other hand, the president indicated that the police investigation units are on the trail of criminals who have already committed thefts in the municipality.

Alexánder Millán, a motorcyclist from Soacha, claimed to agree with the rule: "They cannot brand that the entire unit is a thief. This is how they will identify the rogues. You use your motorcycle to go to work, not to do damage".

Although Bogotá is also facing a series of insecurity events that involve criminals who move around on motorcycles - with up to 13 cases on average each day - it has ruled out the restriction of the barbecue.

Instead, the Secretary of Security of Bogotá, Hugo Acero, proposed to return to the use of the reflective vest with the plate stamped 24 hours a day.

District evaluates imposing new reflective vest with license plate

The Security Secretariat is analyzing the possibility of returning to the reflective vest with a license plate number for motorcyclists, permanently, a rule that was overturned by Congress itself a few years ago.

The proposal is supported by the recurring cases of thefts committed by some motorcyclists, especially at night in neighborhoods of Bogotá, when criminals take the opportunity to steal passers-by who get off the mass transportation system when they arrive at their home, or those who they walk talking on the cell phone or after a purchase.

The Secretary of Security, Coexistence, and Justice, Hugo Acero, stated that in the past the vest standard served to reduce motorcycle theft in the city.

"That allowed us to check and question people whose vest number did not correspond to the motorcycle's license plate. In many cases we found people who had just stolen a motorcycle", declared Acero.

Also, the secretary argued that another advantage is to reduce the number of deaths in motorcycle accidents because they would become more visible.

The official said that the proposal is supported and that he is going to present it to the mayor and then put it for the consideration of congressmen to make it law.

This rule would also bring an advantage for the prosecution of people who commit motorcycle thefts since there would be full identification through people who are witnesses or victims of a crime and greater monitoring through security cameras.

Secretary Acero indicated that this regulation for motorcyclists was implemented in the past in the hitman era, just after the murder of Jaime Garzón, and it gave results.

Reflective vests purchased for schoolchildren

Reflective vests began to be distributed to primary school students in Energodar. Thus, they want to protect schoolchildren on the roads.

In educational institutions of Energodar, pupils of grades 1-4 began to issue reflective vests. A total of 2,526 vests were purchased with a bright-colored signal fabric with reflective tapes on the chest and back and the inscription "Student".

Such vests are issued to pupils for the period of the school year, then they will need to be returned to the school. The city council believes that this will help reduce the number of accidents involving school children.

Let us remind you that young activists want to reach out to the mayor of Zaporizhzhia with pressing issues.

Policemen talk about safety rules

Students of the youngest grades of primary schools returned to learning in the school desks. They are met by policemen dealing with activities in the field of social prevention, of course following the rules of sanitary safety.

According to the Poviat Police Headquarters, a social prevention officer met children of grades I - III in several primary schools in the Sztum. The officer talked with children about road safety rules and safety during winter games.

The policeman emphasized that when playing outdoors, choose safe places, away from busy streets or intersections. He warned against sliding on frozen lakes and rivers. Also, the officials discussed the dangers lurking on the road, encouraging at the same time to wear reflective vest elements. He also encouraged the participants of the meeting to take part in an art and film competition called "Snow Decalogue".

At the end of the meetings, the policeman handed out armbands and reflective vests to the students.

Safety vests for delegated mayors

Two years ago, the initiative would not necessarily have won unanimous support. The twenty-two mayors delegate of Livarot-Pays-d'Auge received Monday afternoon, fluorescent yellow vests offered by Laurence Gaubert of the departmental federation of the insurer Groupama and bearing the mention municipal authority. "Indeed, from time to time, we have to intervene in the middle of the night at accident sites. Sometimes we even do traffic. The waistcoat is safer than a scarf", confides the mayor, Frédéric Legouverneur.

Several elected officials highlight the fact that for firefighters or gendarmes, the safety vest will quickly identify the mayor. "When we are on the side of the road, we are not visible."
