Attention driver! It's slippery on the roads!

 Police urge drivers to be careful. The road surface may turn into an "ice rink". It can cause falling snow or freezing rain. Even though the road services will be on standby, we should be especially careful.

These conditions can be extremely troublesome in the evening and the morning. The speed limit signs on the road refer to good weather conditions. In the case of their deterioration, the speed should also be reduced.

A dangerous collision with the protective barrier occurred yesterday around 4 p.m. on the S7 road near Kazimierzów near Lublin. And exactly before the first exit to Elbląg West. The lane towards Warsaw was blocked. The 33-year-old, driving in a Ford, did not control the car and crashed into the protective barrier. The driver was fined. The incident caused traffic difficulties. The policemen call for adjusting the driving speed to the prevailing and changing conditions.

We also urge pedestrians to put on reflective elements. A reflective vest, a key ring, a wristband, or even an ordinary flashlight will make them more visible to the oncoming driver when driving on a dimly lit road.

The Poviat Police Headquarters prepared free reflectors for the residents

To improve the safety of residents, the County Police Headquarters in Szamotuły prepared several hundred reflectors and reflective vests for them.

"Every year, conducting preventive activities, police officers, thanks to cooperation with local governments, provided residents with reflective elements, e.g. during festivals or meetings with seniors or with school students. The prevailing epidemic limits our possibilities in this regard. To avoid spreading the virus, no meetings with senior groups are organized and students go through distance learning. However, to have a positive impact on improving the safety of the inhabitants of our poviat, thanks to cooperation with local governments, we managed to prepare reflectors and reflective vests, which we can pass on to the residents," informs the young asp. Sandra Chuda.

The materials are available in the waiting room of the County Police Headquarters in Szamotuły. So you can pick them up when visiting the headquarters. Reflectors will be available while stocks last.

The police in Szamotuły reminds that under Art. 11 of the Road Traffic Act, pedestrians walking outside the built-up area after dusk is obliged to use reflective elements in a manner visible to other road users. For your safety, it is also worth wearing reflectors when moving around the city or the countryside. We encourage you to use reflectors always, and not only in a situation where there is a fine for their absence. Thanks to this, we give the driver a better chance to notice us in time and thus improve our road safety.

Young entrepreneurs from Hamburg produce reflective rucksacks and bags

Jacob Leffers and Emil Woermann from Hamburg belong to a new, young generation of entrepreneurs in Germany. They are 20 and 19 years old and are on the road to success with a great idea. They have developed backpacks that glow in the dark - because they found safety vests somehow uncool.

They seem to have hit a nerve because the backpacks are almost torn out of their hands. They have now rented a factory floor in Eimsbüttel. They collected the money for their start-up "OAK25" via the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter. Production takes place in China.

We know that cycling safety is always a sensitive issue and, unfortunately, always very topical. NORTHWAVE, in addition to developing and producing footwear and clothing with very high performance and design always in line with the needs of consumers, does not neglect safety. As? By studying the graphics and materials that, in addition to being attractive, make the cyclist more visible to other vehicles, even in poor visibility conditions.

Safety first. The version of the Celsius XC Arctic GTX with reflective materials is the choice for bikers who, in addition to performance, want to increase their visibility and safety even on days of poor visibility. The new Celsius, with the Gore-Tex membrane, is decidedly warm and comfortable. The new Easyfit Climaflex collar combines the extreme flexibility of the Gore-Tex membrane with the high thermal insulation of neoprene, for greater mobility and protection. Power transmission is given by the Jaws carbon-reinforced sole with a stiffness index of 8.0 and is characterized by a natural rubber that offers extreme grip on any surface. The upper has a construction that wraps the foot without any pressure point, helping to transfer every watt of power, eliminating the dispersion of energy, also the TPU reinforcements ensure strategic 360° protection along the entire upper. The SLW2 closure system guarantees an easy and uniform tightening, the only one with a gradual release that allows a millimeter adjustment of the shoe quickly and intuitively. The positioning of the heel is made possible by an anatomical shape and a solid thermoformed reinforcement, in addition to the Arctic 4Layer insole made with Eva + Aluminum + Eva + Pile, which guarantees excellent thermal insulation. For safety reasons, the 360 ° reflective inserts offer greater visibility on the road. the only one with a gradual release that allows a millimeter adjustment of the shoe quickly and intuitively. Four-way stretch H2O Flex membrane for exceptional freedom of movement, windproof and waterproof up to 10,000 mm. Warm fleece padding provides effective thermal insulation. Long Airprene cuff maintains body heat and quickly evacuates moisture.

Entirely in Neoprene, it provides good resistance to water and wind. Taped to prevent water infiltration. KPU reinforcements along the entire sole combine maximum abrasion protection and flexibility for greater longevity and comfort. In fog:

Fans of outdoor activities are advised to have good communication equipment and navigation devices with them.

Fog is a serious hazard to all road users.

Drivers should increase the distance between cars, avoid sudden braking. If it is necessary to stop, the speed must be reduced gradually. When braking, press the brake pedal several times, thereby giving a signal to warn drivers of vehicles that are moving behind you. It is necessary to pay attention to the technical condition of the car, especially the brake system, and the condition of the tires. All optics must be in working order. Use a high visibility vest at stops.

Pedestrians are advised to:

5. Move only towards the traffic flow;

6. Wear a high visibility vest or attach reflective tapes to clothing.

With ice:

Walk carefully, slowly, step on the entire sole, taking into account the unevenness of the surface. Elderly people are advised to use a rubber-tipped cane or a special stick with pointed spikes. If you slip, sit down to lower your fall.

Pedestrians are advised to cross the street only at the marked pedestrian crossing. Do not cross the road in front of a moving vehicle, because due to the slippery road surface, the braking distance of the car is significantly increased. Move only towards the traffic flow. Use reflective elements on clothing.

For drivers:

1. When driving a car in these conditions, refuse unnecessary rearrangements, overtaking, advancing;

Lovers of winter fishing are reminded of the need to comply with safety rules

Winter ice beckons avid fishermen. They can't wait to drill a hole and catch a fish. However, ice is not the only threat. Trying to warm up, amateur anglers sometimes get burned when using gas equipment, and sometimes they are poisoned to death by carbon monoxide in a tent, as happened recently on Lake Uelgi in the Kunashak region.

Rescuers remind fishermen of the rules for safe winter fishing. Going for a catch, you need to take with you a fully charged mobile phone and a flashlight, a reflective vest, 2-3 hand flares, a compass. It is better to go fishing not alone, but with a friend who has been to this reservoir more than once and knows the area well. But it is better not to take children with you on a fishing trip. It's also best to stay close to the main group of fishermen on the ice. Before using gas heating equipment, it is important to ensure that it is working properly, and you also need to regularly ventilate the tent.

If the weather or health has worsened, it is important to immediately leave the pond or call for help by phone 112. If you happen to get lost, it is more correct to stay on the ice, not to climb into the reeds.
