OOSTERBEEK
It is now a tradition. Around this time of the year, the Lions club Rhenium
hands out checks to charities that receive a nice amount thanks to the proceeds
of the Airborne Music Night.
The
presentation went in stages. EHBO association Ouster beak received a check for
1,500 Euros last Friday. Previously the Foundation for the Conservation of the
Value Stringent and Brooks (3000 Euros), the Airborne Museum (3000 Euros) and
the Food Bank Nader Value (2500 Euros) were the happy organizations that could
receive a contribution thanks to sponsors of the Airborne Music Night. That
resulted in the sweet sum of 10,000 Euros.
Four
organizations have all set a target for which they spend the money or have
already spent it. Airborne Museum in Ouster beak is going to renovate, expand
and bring more temporary exhibitions in the coming years. The Brooks Foundation
wants to give the former water filter cellar a new look. Money is needed to
further renovate the walls and the roof. Food Bank spends the contribution to
the second van, which has since been taken into use. The First Aid Association
wants to use the money to buy a new defibrillator and new reflective clothing.
Lions club Rhenium has been organizing the Airborne
Music Night for 30 years. There, the evening before the Airborne walking tour,
usually about 700 partygoers arrive and they have to wear reflective vests (sewn-on
reflective tapes )to keep safety.
Charities
for Airborne Music Night 2018 (Friday 31 August) are: Airborne Museum, Veterans
Arnhem in Heel sum, Tendons holidays, Stitching Jaime van Bexel and Hockey club
MHCO.
