The Primary School organized a reflective rosary

The students of the Primary School of Stepchildren together with teachers, parents, and guardians participated in the unique prayer of the Rosary. Children and youth dressed in reflective vests with reflective tapes and reflective bands gathered in the parish church to pray for the intention of pedestrians, drivers and travelers, as well as all assisting victims of accidents.

The reflective rosary was the next action in the "Reflective school" action. After the service, all participants gathered in front of the church to recommend victims of accidents in prayer and release the "Light to Heaven". Out of concern for the safety of the participants of this unique Rosary, the students handed out reflective bands which made of reflective materials, improving their visibility on the road.

Around 200,000 people die on the roads every year on the roads. According to police statistics in Poland in 2017 - 8977 road accidents killed 873 pedestrians, including 425 people in pedestrian cases. Killed pedestrians accounted for 31% of all road fatalities victims (a total of 2,810 people).

New road safety campaign presented

"Everything together usually causes scars!" Is the motto of this year's road safety campaign, which the German-speaking community is carrying out together with the police and other partners.

In the context of the broad-based action, which primarily aims to raise awareness of the dangers of the school route, information material on road safety is handed out to all primary school pupils in the German-speaking Community, among others; All first graders will also receive reflective clothing with the logo of the campaign, which made of reflective heat transfer vinyl. The motto is that you should plan the day conscientiously. Instead of doing everything at once, said Prime Minister Oliver Peach on Tuesday morning at the presentation at his seat. The head of government acts again as the patron of the action.

At the beginning of the school year, the DG Government and the heads of the two German-speaking police zones Weser and Eifel, Daniel Kitten and René, called on all road users to pay particular attention to ABC shooters. Elementary school children could not yet estimate the distances and speed of vehicles correctly. Therefore, special care should be taken. There were no accidents close to the school in East Belgium in the last school year but on the way to school.

Pedestrian (94) seriously injured in accident

On Saturday night, there was an accident between a car and a 94-year-old pedestrian. The reason was that the driver saw the lady too late in the dark. The police warn of the danger in winter.

A 94-year-old female pedestrian was seriously injured in a traffic accident on Saturday around 19:20. The pensioner wanted to cross a street, which is equipped with no street lighting and was thereby captured by a car. The 39-year-old motorist from the district of Erding, despite an evasive maneuver, could no longer prevent the collision.

The 94-year-old was taken to hospital with severe head injuries. The fire brigade was in this accident with ten men in action. The prosecution commissioned a report and ordered the securing of the car.

The police advise in this context:

Watch out for twilight and darkness for bright and, ideally, reflective clothing. Dressed in a dark, you are the earliest from about 25 meters away. This can be too short for a timely pause or dodge. With reflective materials on and reflective fabrics in your clothing, you increase your visibility to up to 150 meters - enough distance and time for you and for motorists to react!
